We are back! Our second edition of Friday Favorites, where we feature some of the dudes in the 2020 NFL Draft that are going to be drafted on Friday (rounds 2&3), aren’t as popular or don’t get a ton of attention in the national media.

Friday Favorites is going to take one NFL prospect from the 2020 NFL Draft and compare them to a current NFL player. Some with stats and others with video breakdown. Here we go.

For the second Friday Favorite’s I’m going to introduce to you guys a diamond in the rough, Isaiah Coulter, WR, Rhode Island. Yes, you read that correctly, Rhode Island, (RI stand up).

Coulter is a 6’2″ 198 lbs Wide receiver out of the University of Rhode Island and this guys highlight are insane! Every play seems to be a touchdown, and not an easy touchdown. This dude is making plays over poor little corners, mossing safeties and burning dudes constantly! I came across Coulter because he couldn’t seem to get the timing down on the 40 during the 2020 NFL combine.

I saw this dude false start a couple times and actually felt bad, but after seeing him bounce back from the false starts and go on to run a 4.45 really blew my mind. I know all these guys are supposed to be fast but 4.45 ended up being top 7th among all WR’s at the 2020 NFL Scouting Combine.

I decided to really dive in when one of my favorite scouts, Matt Miller, tweeted that he has a secret small school player late round gem-type prospect that he liked.

Boom. Check the time stamps. Great minds think alike, and this is just another notch on my great scouting belt. And I think I’m gonna stay on track here with Matt, Coulter plays big as fuck and has crazy YAC ability.

Isaiah Coulter’s Career at Rhode Island Via ESPN.com

Coulter’s numbers aren’t eye popping, but his film is. The only issue I have with this guy is the small school factor. The best school that Rhode Island faced in 2019 was Virginia Tech, where Coulter had 9 receptions for 152 yards, which was his 3rd highest receiving total of the year, which is impressive. I can get over the small school factor with Coulter because of his film. Coulter makes plays all over the field and when he eventually polishes his routes after some high level coaching in the NFL, he should be a guy that we should keep an eye on during training camp. I think his ceiling, best case scenario, is Courtland Sutton, former 2nd round pick by the Denver Broncos.

Here’s how Coulter and Sutton line up side by side:

Isaiah Coulter

  • Height: 6’2″
  • Weight: 198 lbs
  • 40: 4.46

Courtland Sutton

  • Height: 6’4″
  • Weight: 216
  • 40: 4.54

Now these two aren’t as identical as last weeks “Friday Favorite’s” but they are close in their physical frame’s and their play on the field is almost identical. Isaiah Coulter should be a steal in the middle to late part of the draft and a team like Green Bay or New Orleans should be able to get some value late in the 2020 NFL Draft. Take a look here at this Coulter/Sutton breakdown I did and let me know what you think!
