The WNBA is back!

The WNBA season officially began a couple of weekends ago, and I felt it was only right to show them some much deserved support and appreciation.

For too long the WNBA has been seriously underappreciated and these athletes do not get the recognition that they deserve.

In order to show them the support they deserve, this week I am crushing on the entire WNBA League.

If we’re being honest with ourselves we have all probably heard the “jokes” or even participated in the “jokes” surrounding the WNBA.

As someone who is working at highly supporting and being an advocate for women’s sports and women in the sport’s world, even I have failed at being an ally.

Today, I am changing that.

I plan on being a more active supporter of these bad ass athletes and the league as a whole.

Not only are these athletes showing up and playing the game they love, they have been active supporters of the social justice movement and are not afraid to stand up for what they believe in. The WNBA has dedicated their entire 2020 season to social justice.

For the 2020 season the Chicago Sky are currently holding down the top spot with the Seattle Storm at a very close second.

DeWanna Bonner of the Connecticut Sun is currently leading the league in points per game with an average of 27.5.

I am also excited to watch former Oregon Duck and 2020 first overall pick Sabrina Ionescu put in work during her first season in the WNBA.

I have been super stoked to see active support of the WNBA and the athletes who make up the WNBA from NBA players, sports channels, journalists, and from people everywhere.

I am excited to learn more about the WNBA and to be an active fan. I hope you are too.
