If you haven’t heard yet, a majority of California is back on lockdown as of today, including Orange County where I live.
I know it sucks.
But even if I can save one life or keep one person healthy, then i’m going to keep my ass at home.
Keeping my ass at home means I am going to spend a lot of my time binge-watching Netflix and catching up on some of my favorite films.
And thanks to one simple tweet from ESPN this morning, I know exactly what to watch.
I instantly knew my answer, but there are so many classic sports movies that I decided to take a trip down memory lane.
Keep reading for some of my favorite sports movies of all times.
- REMEMBER THE TITANS
This film is a classic, and honestly one of my favorite movies of all time. There is something about this movie that just resonates with me. If it’s on, I’m watching.
2. ANGELS IN THE OUTFIELD
If you haven’t seen this movie, we can’t be friends. Just kidding (maybe). This one is a movie from my childhood that brings so many memories. It has only a 33% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and I might have to fight someone about this.

3. LOVE AND BASKETBALL
I said what I said.
This movie is a classic and I love it. It brings all the feels along with the game of basketball and you really can’t go wrong. If you have not seen it, you must.

4. COACH CARTER
Samuel L. Jackson definitely makes this movie what it is, but its one that I have seen over and over and never disappoints. A great film in my so humble opinion.

5. BEND IT LIKE BECKHAM
Again, I said what I said.
As a young girl who played soccer for six years this movie hits a soft spot. It is also just a freaking solid movie.

6. THE SANDLOT
There was no way I could make this list and not include this movie. Again, it is a movie that I grew up on that I will watch forever and force my five nieces and nephews to watch. Whether they want to or not.

7. FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS
The film and the series. I love both.
I might like the TV series more than the film, but without the film I don’t know if the TV series would exist so it’s on my list.

8. ROCKY
Need I say more? Honestly, I could argue that the first three Rocky movies could be on this list. I love them all but the first three are my faves.

GUILTY PLEASURE: SHE’S THE MAN
Okay, so I know I probably lost a lot of you on this one but I had to include it. As a young, naive teenage girl this movie was everything. I realize now that this movie is not the best, but I acknowledge the ridiculousness of it while continuing to love it and that is why it is my guilty pleasure.

I know there are so many classic sports movies that are not on this list but these are the ones that I grew up on, that left a special place in my heart.
In doing my research I also learned that there are A LOT of classic sports movies that I have yet to see and plan on seeing.
After all, Ive got nothing but time.
If you have any suggestions or must watch movies, please feel free to let me know via email, Twitter, Instagram, you know the drill, so I can definitely check them out.
